childcare practitioners, our current courses are listed
below.

Paediatric
First Aid for Child Care Practitioners
|
Child
care practitioners/settings must hold a Paediatric first
aid qualification as a condition of the Early Years
Foundation Stage Welfare Requirements.
.
This
is a 12 hour Paediatric first aid course, certified
for 3 years and conforms to Ofsted requirements. This
course runs 9.30 - 4pm over two days.

A short course designed for parents
and grandparents of young children.

|
Setting
up a Home-based Childcare Service
|
This
course prepares learners to work as
home-based childcarers/childminders and covers basic
business, policies and procedures, working with parents,
safeguarding children and relevant aspects of childcare.
The
course
runs 9.30am - 4pm daily and involves your commitment
to homework and building a portfolio. Your Portfolio will be assessed.
Successful
assessment will result in you achieving
Unit Number: CYPOP 5 which is one optional Unit of the Level 3 Diploma
for the Children and Young People's Workforce.

Training Course
|
This
course covers the definition of child abuse, the different
categories, signs and symptoms, contributory factors
leading to abuse, dealing with disclosure and referrals
to Children and Young Peoples Service (Social Services).
It is aimed at anyone working with children and
young people. This is a
3 hour course.

A
practical workshop to assist childminders to be more
confident and better equipped in the business side of
childminding. By the end of the workshop you will
understand how to record and report financial information
required by HM Revenue and Customs.
This
is a 2 hour workshop.

Marketing Workshop
|
A
workshop to assist childminders / early years providers
to think positively
about promoting their business, identifying their unique
selling points. This is a 2 hour workshop.
This
workshop also contributes towards Unit 3
of the Diploma in Home-based Childcare.

Safety Awareness
for Childcarers
|
A
workshop to raise awareness of Food Safety for childminders / early years providers.
This
is a 2 hour workshop.

Risk
Assessment
for Childcarers
|
A
workshop to assist childminders / early years providers
to think positively
about risk assessment in their setting.
This is a 2 hour workshop.

SEN
Workshop
|
A workshop to assist practitioners to
develop an understanding of the roles, responsibilities,
challenges and rewards of working with children
with additional needs, to build
on existing skills and to become familiar
with the Code of Practice requirements and

This is a 2 hour workshop.

Assertiveness
Workshop
|
A workshop aimed
to explore assertiveness and where practitioners can
assess and reflect on their abilities in
this area . You will explore how
to implement assertiveness effectively
in the home based setting as well as identifying
how and when to say NO!
This is a 2 hour workshop.

Children's
Rights
Workshop
|
A workshop aimed
to explore the United Nations Convention on the Rights
of the Child. This will help the childcare
practitioner be more aware of and to develop
their understanding of how to meet the needs
and rights of children in their setting.
This is a 2 hour workshop.
