DCMA introducated the CACHE award Diploma in Home-based Childcare as a distance learning course.

DCMA began the delivery of Food Safety Awareness and Risk Assessment training

 

A very successful year for DCMA:

DCMA became an Approved CACHE Centre

DCMA team were nominated Finalists for Children's Stars 4Children

DCMA began the delivery of Paediatric First Aid Training Courses

 

DCMA opened our second Toy Library in Plym View School, Plymouth.

DCMA website was redesigned and became more interactive.

 

DCMA recruited Support Childminders to work alongside Development Workers, providing local links to childminders for prospective childminders.

 

DCMA supported Childminders through the changes when Ofsted became the regulatory body for the Inspection of Childcare,

 

DCMA opened a Toy Library in Weston Mill, Plymouth

 

DCMA developed Children Come First Childminding Networks, establising 6 Childminding Networks which were approved and Accredited to provide Early Years Funded sessions for 3 and 4 year olds.

 

DCMA's newsletter Keeping in Touch was circulated quarterly for the first time.

 

DCMA established and supported over 50 Childminding Groups.

 

First Aid subsidies introduced in Devon to encourage childminders to gain a recognised First Aid Qualification - not compulsory by Law at this stage.

 

DCMA's newsletter Keeping in Touch established, being circulated termly.

 

DCMA's Basic Childminding Course was introduced.

 

DCMA supported Childminders through the changes to registration and the new National Standards when The Children Act, 1989 was introduced.
